  • Deer Hunter 2016 turns a bloody sport, that many criticize into an arcade experience that’s not even fun. We played the game on the ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser and found that the missions were very short.

There are 10 energy meter units here and you’ll be hunting goats, wolves, bears and even go into some sort of boss fights, with huge beasts to turn into trophies. You can use infrared to view the lungs, heart and other organs of the critters you’ll be hunting. Some of the missions require you to hit those organs in order to proceed. All you need to do is swipe, press the side arrows to move around for a better view of the target and finally press the fire button to make the beasts eat lead.

Weapons can be customized and upgraded and you should know that Deer Hunter 2016 is the celebratory title of 18 years of Deer Hunter franchise. The thing is that you’ll need cash to upgrade weapons, that are required to have a certain level of scope, ammo or body in order to proceed. The cash is obtained through secondary missions, where you’ll use a shotgun to destroy goats, that are running around.

Some animals attack you, such as bears and wolves, limiting your action time. This is a pretty cruel game and a very cynical one, that’s not even fun in an arcade manner. We give it a 6.5 out of 10 and it’s very far from the Deer Hunter of our childhood. You can get it here.
