Death Dome Review: Fantastic Zombie-Based Game (Video)

  • Death Dome has got to be one of the most original zombie-based games I’ve played lately and it’s not even a shooter. This is one of those static third person battle titles, like Blood & Glory and Infinity Blade, but it still manages to stay original. Glu Mobile was involved in making this game, so this means it’s obviously free and filled with in app purchases.

The battles are waged with the main female character at their center and with the ability to dodge to the left, to the right, parry and use a shield to protect you from enemy attacks. You buy new weapons, armors, shields and charms for the character and in order to attack an enemy you will have to swipe to the left or right to hit them. There’s also a special soft spot of the enemy, marked by a red circle, that you’ll have to tap at the right time. The screen will show you a meter at the top, the Flux meter, that fills up when you do a bunch of successful dodges.

A Flux attack is devastating for the enemy, doing a lot of damage, in much bigger percentages than usual. Each battles starts with a fixed purpose, like do 2 parries, or perform 3 dodges and if you manage to perform them, you’ll get to end the battle and kill the enemy with a fatality at the end. Boss battles are fantastic and they remind me of God of War 3, since you’re battling giants, as tall as buildings and the battles are tough. We give the game a 9 out of 10 and you can get it from here.
