  • Gallery apps have been evolving a lot over the past year and even Google has struggled to decide if they’re going to use the classic Gallery or the Google+ associated Photos app. There are also third party alternatives, some very good, like the Cyanogen one made available this week.

The Cyanogenmod team has created this new gallery app that will be integrated into future versions of the custom ROM. Right now you can be part of its beta testing and folks who played with it claim that it reminds them of the HTC Sense 5 gallery, so it’s all about minimalism. Also, it appears that while the Nexus 5 is compatible with the app, people have been having problems with the Note 3 and Moto G.

This is a work in progress, but it does support cloud storage images, moments, local files and Picasa, Flickr, Facebook and Dropbox integration. In order to install it you’ll need to join the beta testing Google+ community, that is found over here.
