Cordy 2 Review: Excellent Platformer in the Vein of Sonic and Oddworld’s Abe (Video)
Since we had the chance to play with the HTC One for a day or two, we also reviewed a game on this handset. Said game is a title we’ve been waiting to review for a while now, Cordy 2. This game costs $4.99 and it’s worth every penny, since it’s very catchy and fun.
The title offers 4 levels free to play initially and a total of 48 levels after you pay up. It sticks to the classic recipe of a platformer, with the little blue alien Cordy having to jump around, use a jetpack, a magnetic pack and other gadgets to move around. There are various trampolines, boxes to move and obstacles, as well as traps and enemy units that are usually weak in their top area.
There are 3 beautiful worlds to explore and the graphics are colourful and very “disco” looking. The effects remind me of the world of Tron and the music is electronic and really catchy. There are also racing sequences, just like in the game Sonic, as well as long levels to explore, cogs to collect and Zaps. Magnets, electrons and power plugs and the centerpiece of the game, since they’re used to move around and interact with stuff.
We give this game a 10 out of 10 for colourful graphics and addictive gameplay. You can download it from here.
