  • Few among us have not been impressed about Samsung’s flagship device, the Galaxy SIII. It’s not only the hardware that’s impressive. The software feature count as half of the things that make it so desirable. The new launcher NatureUX theme is beautiful and we’de like to try it on other devices. Well, now you can.

XDA Developers member rani9990, only 13 years of age, successfully ported the Galaxy SIII launcher for all ICS ROM’S. I myself tested it on my Galaxy Nexus and I can confirm it’s working flawless. Transitions are smooth, the animations are beautiful and it’s without a doubt something worth a try. The developer states that it has not been tested to work on Gingerbread but that does not mean it doesn’t.

As usual with ICS, if you want to add widgets from the app drawer it’s required to have a rooted device. If you do then use an app, like Titanium Backup to convert the app to system app or use a root file manager to copy it to system dir and set permisions to RW-R-R.

Member rani9990 also managed to port the Galaxy SIII Task Manager for ICS devices. It hasn’t been confirmed to work on many smartphones but it’s wort a try. As the developer mentions, if it does not work try installing it as a system app and setting permissions. On my Galaxy Nexus the app failed to install.

You can download the Galaxy SIII Launcher here and Task Manager here.
