  • Breakneck has a beautiful visual style and it’s much more than it seems at first sight, which is a typical spaceship runner. In fact it’s quite a nice experience, with great speed sensation. We played it on the ASUS ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition and it’s available for free in the Play Store.

Launched last summer, the game lets you race alone, without competitors, sometimes just with the ghost of your previous best runs. You will charge a boost by passing by obstacles, usually huge walls and there will be citadels crumbling, beautifully rendered rain and huge towers falling from the sky, so that’s majestic.

Level design is varied and the purpose here is to run as fast as you can, since you’re being chased by a wall of energy. I found it shocking that while the game was OK, its menus were very laggy. Players can level up by getting XP and an interesting feat is that you can watch credit card ads in exchange for in game currency.

It’s a fun and original game, which is very fun to play, has a nice soundtrack and allows you to unlock design kits for your ship, by spending a lot of coins,. Perks include double XP, extra charge, more pickups and then there’s the powerup aspect: coin magnet, unlimited boost etc. We give this game an 8.7 out of 10 and you can get it here.
