Bounty Arms Review: Slightly Repetitive, But Console Graphics Save It (Video)
Once we got the Allview Viva Q8 tablet for testing purposes, we decided to put this small tablet to good use and test the game Bounty Arms. This title is priced at $4.99 and it involves playing with a few funky characters in a sci fi background.
The idea is to smash robots using all sorts of crazy weapons and upgrades. The game comes from Kerosene Games and the graphics feel like those we saw on a console like the PS2, which is a compliment for the world of mobile gaming. Bounty Arms is a side scroller at heart, where players have the option to move around in a full 3D range.
Levels are basic and involve running from one side of the screen to the other while swatting enemies and firing at them, depending on the character you choose. You can use a virtual thumbstick for control and an attack button too. You can choose between 3 characters and attach a pet with special powers to them. A bad thing here is that you can’t switch targets when fighting and you can’t dodge attacks, so you’ll die a lot.
There are two meters on the screen: a health bar and energy bar with the former allowing you to launch a special attack. The game gets a 7.5 out of 10 from us and that’s a pretty solid grade for a slightly repetitive title. You can download it here.
