  • If you’re looking for a solid 2012 Olympics app, I mean one that can actually show you live videos from the event, we have a suggestion for you: BBC Olympics. There’s also the NBC initiative for this event, that we covered here. Back to the BBC Olympics application, the software is available for free and it requires Android 2.2 and up.

The app takes up 1.7MB of space and allows you to watch up to 24 live streams of Olympics competitions and see all the medal moments and highlights. You can watch video live and on demand via 3G or WiFi, as you prefer. You get daily live text commentaries from BBC journalists, video highlights of the action, features and interviews with the athletes, plus a detailed schedule and results for every event out there.

The app includes a medals table, a page for every Olympic sport, a page for every competing country and a page for every Olympic athlete involved in the competition, so it’s pretty complex. What’s really nice is that you can read the homepage top stories even offline, without a connection to the Internet. Get the app from here!
