Bad Piggies Review: Rovio, You’ve Done it Again! (Video)
Before we proceed, I have to say that I was a big fan of Angry Birds initially and at some point during the past 6 months it all went downhill and levels started getting boring and repetitive. And then comes Rovio with its Amazing Alex title that was not my cup of tea… and now Bad Piggies, that’s a huge pleasant surprise, set in the Angry Birds game universe.
The aim is to build a sort of vehicle for your green pig to ride, as he heads downhill or uphill to his goal, usually a blueprint or something like that, a devilish way to get the birds’ eggs. To build flying or rolling vehicles you will use wooden crates, motors, soda bottle rockets, balloons, umbrellas and dozens of other items. They can be placed inside grey squares and combined for greater effects, like the engines combined with a propeller or an umbrella on a box and a spring to get things moving.
The game is fantastic! It literally kept me glued to the screen of the Sony Xperia Tablet S I used to test and finally I’ve finished the first part of it, the one with the rolling, not flying. There’s a second part relying on aerial vehicles, balloons, plane wings and other stuff like that. The idea is that you should know physics and where to place the engine and the weight of a wheeled vehicle. Also the placement of wings on a flying machine matters. Everything matters! Aside from the main levels there are bonus levels unlocked through skulls that you find in the game and a Sandbox when you get to create huge vehicles and really improvise and go wild.
TNT boxes are even included for a boost and a thrust for your pig. This is a very fun to play game and both the regular and HD version are free, with the latter being ad supported. The regular version is up for download here and HD one here. We give this game a 10 out of 10, since it is without a doubt the best game once could download right now.
