  • Asphalt 7 was just yesterday available for free on iOS and now we’re already preparing for another release in this racing series. When Asphalt 7 came up, it was perceived as the best racing game on mobile, in spite of its arcade nature. Then NFS Most Wanted came and rocked everything, so now Gameloft is back in the saddle and working on Asphalt 8 Infinity, that just got a developer diary out.

We knew that such a game was coming, since last month Gameloft’s 2013 lineup leaked and included a new Asphalt title. The newcomer seems to be a true upgrade, with more reflections and lighting effects, taking a cue from Most Wanted. The cars are more detailed, the polygon count has increased and the car physics are also better now, for a more realistic feeling. The multiplayer mode also brings some fresh elements, but those elements haven’t been mentioned exactly.

New tracks and cars are obviously expected and among the tracks we have a very original one, a sewage tunnel for acrobatic stunts. There are also two new campaign  modes, but other than that Asphalt 8 seems pretty much like the predecessor. The developer diary says that the game will bring users closer to a console quality experience. Who’s excited about this?
