  • You probably know about Gameloft’s passion for numbers, as they promised to launch the game Asphalt 8 on the eighth day of the eighth month of the year. That was August 8th and that date passed without a launch. Now we have a new launch date and that’s August 22nd.

It’s not very clear what happened with the original launch and why it was canned, but we’re glad to know the racing title is still coming. Meanwhile, Gameloft is holding a contest, that will allow a winner to get a pre-launch download code. The winner of the contest will be announced on Monday, August 19th.

By the way, the game is coming to both iOS and Android on the 22nd and the price tag is not steep at all: $0.99. With this summer’s game blockbusters on mobile being free (Plants vs Zombies 2) or cheap (Asphalt 8), I see great days ahead for us mobile gamers. Asphalt 8 brings 8 new maps, a weather conditions, a new physics engine and more cars.
