  • What costs 99 cents and it’s great to keep you busy this summer? You’ve guessed it, it’s Gameloft’s latest racing title, Asphalt 7: Heat, available now on Google Play Store. We’ve played this title on both the ASUS Padfone and PadFone Station in a single video review, the one shown below and we can provide some input on this racing title.

Created by Gameloft, this game requires Android 2.2 and up and it takes up quite a bit of storage: 1.4GB. It offers you the chance to drive 60 different cars, including some Ferrari, Aston Martin, BMW and Lamborghini models. Even the famous DeLorean from the “Back to the Future” movies is here, as a special vehicle. The idea is to get as much cash and as many stars as possible by completing challenges and races, in order to unlock new races, cars and various ways to pimp your rides. You can repaint the car, the windows, add decals, increase the engine power, add some nitro power and much more. Everything is highly customizable, but not in the simulator range, but rather in the arcade one.

This is still an arcade racing game, without aspiring to be a pretentious simulator like Gran Turismo, so the fun is easily delivered. You can control your vehicle either by tilting the phone/tablet or by choosing to press on the screen, since once again everything is customizable. 15 tracks set in real cities are available, including Hawaii, Paris, Moscow, London, Miami and more. There’s also a multiplayer feature, either locally via LAN against 5 friends or online on Gameloft’s servers.

15 leagues and 150 different races are available and you can collect money and boosts all over the track, with some of the boosts turning the screen into a speed rush with blue background in a very cool way. There’s also a car crashing challenge, where you have to push other rivals into walls to complete the challenge, in a way that reminds me of Burnout. This is a very fun to play title, one that deserves a 9 out of 10 from us. Don’t believe people saying that this is not much different from Asphalt 6, as it is. You can download it from here.
