  • Archos is expanding its product lineup from regular tablets to tablets for kids, consoles and now even a sort of media player/set top box bundled with a remote and with Android 4.1 on board. This device is called the Archos TV Connect and it’s aimed at bringing Jelly Bean to your HDTV.

TV Connect is the gadget you see placed on top of the TV and it comes bundled with that TV Touch remote. The product will be available from February and it’s priced at $129.99. The main device of the combo runs Android 4.1 and allows the user to access his favourite Android apps and games on the television. Archos calls this “the only multitouch Android on TV experience”. TV Connect also offers Google Play Store support, HDMI connectivity (cable included), a USB port and microSD card slot.

WiFi and Ethernet Connectivity are also here and Archos claims that the device is able to read a lot of formats, offering support for full HD video and H.264. There’s also a HD webcam for videocalls, a LED notification light, plus support for Google Talk and Skype. The TV Touch remote has multitouch gestures, a full QWERTY keyboard and Android shortcuts.
