  • The Archos GamePad is one of those interesting gaming tablets, that have just gone up for sale in Europe, with a price tag of 149.99 euro. The device is shown below and you can see that we’re dealing with a 7 inch slate with gaming controls on each of the sides.

There’s an exclusive game mapping tool on board and a 1.6 GHz dual core CPU inside. The product runs Android 4.1 Jelly bean and looks like a solid Xmas purchase option, if you don’t already own a Galaxy Note II, for example, that will give you the gaming experience of your life. Archos GamePad supports a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution and relies on a quad core Mali 400 MP GPU for the gaming purposes. It also offers 8 GB of storage, plus microSD card and a micro HDMI port.

The whole device is 0.3 inches thin and weighs around 0.7 pounds. As far as the gaming controls go,you get 4 action buttons, 4 directional buttons, dual shoulder buttons and dual analog sticks, plus a few more buttons. Folks in USA will be able to purchase this bad boy starting Q1 2013, but there’s no solid launch date right now.
