Archangel Review: Typical Dungeon Crawler With Repetitive Background (Video)
I played with the LG G Flex handset for a few days and tested some games on it, including the one detailed below. It’s called Archangel and it’s priced at just $2. This is a typical dungeon crawler, that has you playing as an archangel and fighting demons.
This is a 400 MB download and we’ve got touch and gesture control here. There are 30 levels to play, 100 items to collect and there’s also the ability to save progress in the cloud and continue where you left off on other devices. Android 2.3.3 is required to play the game, so it should run even on more modest devices.
This is a hack and slash title that will have you tapping repetitively on the screen, much like you did when you mashed buttons in God of War. There’s a ton of abilities you can use, from freezing enemies to resurrecting the dead baddies and using them against demons. You can create walls of fire, throw fire balls at enemies and charge up a bigger strike with a bigger fire ball.
You can also swipe through enemies to dash through them and everything feels kind of repetitive, enemies and background included. There’s a slight Diablo feeling and the ton of abilities may save the game a bit. We still give it a 7.5 out of 10 and recommend it to people who actually love dungeon crawlers. There’s a download link here.
