  • Color Labs is a well known foto and video sharing service with apps available for both Android and iOS. The app lets you capture and share Live video Broadcasts and photos instantly with Facebook friends and followers. You can customize your audience with our Broadcast privacy settings by selecting all, individual or groups of friends and choose to post to Facebook.

Latest rumors state that Apple is interested in purchasing Color Labs for an undisclosed sum. The makers of one of the most popular social apps for the mobile platform have had their ups and downs lately so a purchase from the Cupertino based giant is very probable. Currently Color Labs hold a number of patents, include one for a file format that they were working on to record HD video. There are also other patents that are still pending.

What will Apple do with the acquisition other then obtaining those patents is a misery. The developers of Color were working on a number of other apps, also centered on the social media experience, for “sharing content among a group of devices” and “user device group formation”. Will let you know as the story unfolds. Till then you can try the Android app for free.
