  • Apex Launcher is one of the popular third party launchers on the market and it competes with the likes of the NOVA Launcher. For those of you unhappy with the usual official solutions, launchers are a goldmine. And now we have good news, as the Apex Launcher reached Beta version 1.3.0 and it’s based on Jelly Bean’s code right now.

This means that it gets some notable improvements in the performance area and some new features. The fps is very good when moving from one homescreen to another. The upgrade brings stuff like automatic moving around of screen elements when placing widgets, auto resize for widgets to fit on the homescreen and quick removal of apps and widgets by flinging them off the homescreen. There are new enter/exit animations available (Jelly Bean only) and you can switch to phone layout on 7 inch tablets.

This Apex release fixes the icon ordering bug within folders and gives you unlimited drawer tabs and a new drawer management UI. There’s improved drawer tab switching for vertical drawers and the Google Play Store widgets on Jelly Bean have also been fixed. Translations have been enhanced as well, but the most notable thing is certainly the whole widget add and resize thing. You can get the new software from here.
