  • Ever since the frozen planet and sweets planet update, plus the Mars Rover levels we haven’t heard much about Angry Birds Space. Well, now 2013 is here and it begins with an update of the Angry Birds cosmic title launched last Spring. I can’t believe it’s been almost a year since the game has been launched.

Anyway, the update is dubbed Splash Galaxy and it brings 30 new levels on a planet filled with water. We’ve seen water-based levels before in an update called Piglantis, to Angry Birds Seasons if I’m not mistaking. The planet is filled with water and it has been teased by Rovio on Twitter and other social media via a rubber duckie.

This watery planet is filled with liquid, strange creatures that usually dwell in the Ocean and pigs in boats. The update also brings an “ultimate under water boss level”, according to Rovio. Water brings new physics to the game and you also get a bunch of powerups, sort of a premiere for Angry Birds. Those include a Flock of Birds, Space Egg and Pig Puffer. The latter makes pigs swell and blow up, while the Space Egg triggers black holes and the Flock acts just like the blue birds, dividing any bird up into more specimens.

The game can be downloaded from here.
