  • A recent study performed on 9,000 consumers by BIGinsight showed that Android is now the cool thing in the world of mobile and iOS is not, or at least not anymore. The study was a Hot or Not one, with 53% voting that Android is cooler, while iOS is pretty close behind with 51.4%.

The public that voted for Android is 18 years of age or more and if you divide stats up, the result is even more interesting. The Millenial demographic concurs that both platforms are hot, but Android got 64% this time versus the 61.9% of Apple (I guess that some people like them both, else I can’t explain that 100%+ stats). The generation X are 10% more likely to prefer Android, while baby boomers were undecided, favoring both and the Silent generation was all Apple.

Almost half of people born before 1946 prefer Apple, however the conclusion that interests us is that the children of the future, Millenials and Generation X see Android as the future, at least for now… or at least till they get an iPad Mini.
