  • Although the name Key Lime Pie was thrown around for a year now, it appears that it’s not the moniker that the next Android release will adopt in the end. Apparently, Android 4.4 will be dubbed KitKat in the end, as confirmed by Google itself.

You can find that statement on and it all started yesterday, when Sundar Pichai, Google Chrome and Android boss posted on his Google+ page a hint about that name. In the meantime Google also posted a promo video for the OS that was removed, because it contained a video of the Nexus 5 handset by mistake.

No idea what KitKat will include, but I find it seriously disturbing that Google would use a trademark name for their OS release. Also, the short version of the name would be KK, which is not cool at all for a popular platform. How about that?
