  • The web has been abuzz for the past 24 hours with the news of Android 4.3 arriving on the Galaxy S4 in a less than official way. The folks of SamMobile obtained the very first test build of Android 4.3 for the Google Play Edition Galaxy s4 and ported it to the GT-I9505 edition of the S4.

The port is fully functional on the Snapdragon-based handset and you should probably know it’s not flashable through Odin and it will void your warranty. You can apply the software right now, but you should be reasonably skilled in flashing a custom ROM. You need the GT-I9505 Galaxy S4 and a custom recovery to go through with it.

You need to copy the Google Play Edition ROM to your internal SD card and then enter Recovery Mode (Power + Volume Up + Home). Then you’ll have to do a factory reset, flash the Google Play Edition ROM and reboot your device. You can download the needed Android 4.3 package from here. Keep in mind that Google itself hasn’t even released the software yet.
