  • Over the past week leaks regarding Android 4.2 were usually associated to the LG Nexus 4 handset. However, the handset was actually revealed to be running Android 4.1.2 instead of Android 4.2. Anyway we’re here to show you a very interesting feature of the new Android release, that the guys of Android Police managed to get hold of, a in leaked ROM version.

Just as they were swiping through the alpha build, they came across a very interesting Quick Settings interface, that’s a work in progress right now, as shown by the placeholder. Basically you pull down the notification bar and then you can pull down one more bar for Quick Settings, or at least that’s what the video below is showing. This is an actual file from the 4.2 dump with a placeholder graphic pictured above. This dual downward swiping is a pretty nice idea, the kind that makes you wonder “why didn’t they think of this before?”.

The Quick Settings are supposed to grant you access to WiFi, airplane mode and other device settings like user profiles and more. To me the dual downward swipe thing sounds intuitive, but that may not apply to all users. So, what do you think? Do you prefer a vertically sliding collection of connectivity buttons or this method?
