Android 4.2 Doesn’t Feature the Month of December in its Date Picker; No Christmas for You!
We’ve seen a lot of bugs in mobile operating systems over the years, but some of them are simply embarrassing. It appears that Google has forgotten to include December in its date picker in Android Jelly Bean 4.2. You’ll trigger this bug if you want to add a friend’s birthday in the new event People area and use an Android 4.2 device.
The friend has to be born in December and you’ll find out that the month wasn’t included in the list, for any of the years. The issue was reported two days ago and we might get an update to fix it soon enough, hopefully before December comes. Google Calendar is still OK and we’re surprised this didn’t come up faster. Goes to show that not so many people are born in December… as if they weren’t unlucky enough to be born close to Christmas or New Year, getting one present for two occasions.
The idea here is that the problem could also affect apps that rely on the date picker, but that has yet to be confirmed. With Google usually operating fast to correct bugs, I expected a small OTA to come in the following two days. If I were Google, I’d say I left December out to avoid the supposed 21st December apocalypse…
