  • We’ll cross this one as a rumor, but there’s a pretty solid looking report saying that the next Android release will be version Android 4.2.2 and then it will be followed by Key Lime Pie. Recently a Google employee mentioned a Bluetooth fix as one of the features coming with the next Android update, version 4.2.2 supposedly.

This version was spotted in the wild on Nexus 4 devices, but sadly the new Android codes found by Pocketnow last week show no hint of this update. Back to the reports and leaks, unnamed Google employees who are playing with the Nexus devices are testing the Android 4.2.2 release right now. International Business Times is claiming that they’ve already tested the update and they conclude that it’s “minuscule at best”, with minimal changes when it comes to security and bugs.

The release will happen at the middle of this month and the next major version of Android will be Key Lime Pie, that will be announced at Google I/O in May. Expect maybe a Motorola Nexus phone, although the recently rumored X Phone by Moto will not be part of the Nexus series, apparently.
