Aerial and Satellite Imagery in Google Maps and Google Earth Updated With More Regions, High Resolution Images
Google has just given its Google Maps and Google Earth an update, that brings fresh and high res imagery for more cities and regions. Such examples of high quality shots are shown below and now the update offers an extra 164 cities and 108 countries/regions with improved representation in the apps.
There’s a fresh batch of aerial, satellite and 45 degree imagery to explore. There’s even an occasion to fit the update: the Seattle Space Needle is celebrating its 50th anniversary. You can see it repainted in the original Galaxy Orange color scheme. 60 cities get new 45 degree imagery in Google Maps, including 40 more US cities and 20 more international cities, that include Luxembourg and Romania as a premiere.
From the beautiful castles in Switzerland to the EU conference center in Luxembourg, everything is more detailed now. This feels like a big move to challenge Apple’s Flyover 3D feature to a duel and since Google is preparing to bring Maps to iOS again, they’re planning on doing so with a bang.
