Adrenaline Rush Miami Drive Review (Mstar S700): Asphalt Overdrive Clone With Neon Graphics, Not Much Going for It… (Video)

  • Adrenaline Rush is a title that we tried on the Mstar S700 handset, as we played with the device. This game is supposed to be an endless runner with cars, in the vein of Asphalt Overdrive from Gameloft, but in a much simpler manner. It comes with cartoonish neon graphics and the unlockable cars available here are quite expensive.

There’s a slight GTA vibe, because of the backgrounds and color choices and the control is quite odd. It involves keeping the screen pressed on the left or right side of the screen in order to change lane, instead of swiping. You can pick up magnets, coins and other things like that, plus side hit cars for bonuses (perhaps). Taking out a car while going to opposite lane is called a golden takedown and apparently it’s a big deal.

As you advance you’ll have to face mines dropping from the air, police cars and spikes on the road. The gameplay speeds up every once in a while, but the core of the endless running action stays the same. In the end, the game is kind of boring and the revives that cost a lot (in a rare currency) are annoying. There’s not much traffic here, which is probably the thing making the game easy.

We give it a 7 out of 10 and I’d say we’re pretty kind with it. Adrenaline Rush is up for download here.
