  • Famous benchmark 3DMark from Futuremark, a landmark in the area of benchmarks (so many marks!) is now getting a new version and surprise-surprise it doesn’t only come to the PC, but also to mobile. It will also get a version for iOS, Android and Windows RT. The latest version of 3DMark launched hours ago via the Futuremark site and Steam and through the cross platform support, you will be able to compare your Android handset result with the PC ones.

There are 3 all new tests and support for benchmarking tablets, notebooks, high end gaming desktops, pretty much everything. The app is designed for gamers, hardcore overclockers and system builders. 3DMark is a PC benchmarking tool kit, one that’s no longer just for Windows. In the future you will be able to compare 3DMark scores with Android, iOS and Windows RT devices.

Among the new features there’s one called Fire Strike, that’s used for high end PCs and tests the performance of gaming rigs. It uses a multi thread DirectX 11 engine to test the hardware. Then there’s a function called Cloud Gate, useful for notebooks and Home PCs and then Ice Storm a Direct3D feature level 9 benchmark for entry level computers and tablets. Excited about the launch of this new benchmark tool?
