  • A few years back when PC’s were the most important work and entertainment devices, Futuremark, back then called Mad Onion, provided some of the best software for benchmarking the overall performance and especially the PC GPU. These tests also came with a Demo, showing the latest 3D capabilities of modern-day GPU’s.

3DMark has been rumored to arrive for Android since a long time ago. Even with so many apps for testing each of the devices components, available on the Play Store, I am sure those that are familiar with Futuremark products will prefer this solution to any other, as it provides some of the most accurate results. The app has to be downloaded and installed over WiFi, as it can take over 250MB in size.

3DMark for Android provides two kinds of test, including the most basic called Ice Storm and Ice Storm Extreme, the latter being more comprehensive and lengthy. From the settings menu there is also a Demo Mode, activated by default and offering a movie-like experience with sound during testing. The graphics are nothing short of spectacular and you get the ability to compare your results and even share your score through about any app. The benchmark is available for free on the Store.
