  • Having tried YouTube for Android on tablets,  you surely have noticed the cool carousel UI with a 3D effect when browsing the personal page. The UI has been the same since the new version of the app was introduced at Google I/O this year.

Now updated to version 4.2.16, the new YouTube app brings a revamped interface for 10-inch tablets. Google has decided to abandon the 3D carousel UI in favor of a more simple and direct approach. 10-inch devices, including the newly launched Nexus 10, will get a UI similar to what smartphone users usually get.

The first time you will start the app after updating it you will be greeted by a guide, showing you how to navigate your channel. Swiping from the left side will reveal the options for subscriptions and management of the channels. There is also a guide that will show you how to discover new channels of interest. There have also been included bug fixes for all devices. The YouTube app can be downloaded for free from the Play Store.
